A Brand with Purpose
INGJIN SAN is a luxury fashion brand rooted in personal truth and cultural preservation. Created by Burmese-American designer Ingjin San, the brand brings traditional Burmese textiles into bold, modern expression, redefining what luxury means through authenticity, heritage, and resilience.
What began as a deeply personal pursuit, a way to express creativity, independence, and identity, has grown into a mission: to bring authentic Burmese artistry to the global fashion stage. INGJIN SAN designs are more than clothing, they are wearable statements of survival, strength, and beauty. Each collection honors both the designer’s own story and the stories of the communities behind the fabrics.
A Message From Ingjin
I started my brand, INGJIN SAN, to express my authentic self and share the story of my roots, Burma.
My brand was born from my love for design, my heritage as a Burmese-American, and a deep responsibility to share the story of a people who are too often silenced. Our fabrics are handwoven in Myanmar (Burma), a country currently in the midst of a violent civil war, following the military coup that overthrew its democratically elected government. It is also still recovering from the devastation of a record-breaking earthquake. And yet, despite it all, the weavers we work with continue to create with extraordinary strength, precision, and pride. That kind of resilience deserves to be seen, and worn.
Every piece we make is a tribute to that story. It’s not just fashion, it’s history, identity, and survival in wearable form. When you wear INGJIN SAN, you’re not just wearing a bold, luxury garment, you’re carrying a piece of resistance, beauty, and culture.
What Defines Us
At our core, we believe luxury is about meaning. Our work isn’t created for mass appeal, it’s designed for those who value craftsmanship, authenticity, and individuality.
Every garment is a bold, limited-edition piece that combines contemporary design with rich textile tradition. From sketch to stitch, we focus on detail, quality, and story. The spirit of each piece is fearless, unapologetic, and deeply intentional, meant to empower the wearer as much as it honors the maker.
We use authentic Acheik, a traditional Burmese textile that’s entirely handwoven by skilled artisans using centuries-old techniques. These textiles are rare, intricate, and take weeks or even months to make. We honor this craftsmanship by working directly with the artisans, paying fair wages, and giving credit where it’s due.
We also work with ethically sourced printed Acheik, created in Burma by trusted partners. These printed versions preserve the iconic patterns while making them more accessible and versatile. Alongside these, we integrate other high-quality, sustainably sourced fabrics chosen for their longevity, feel, and ability to carry a story.
Production is split between Myanmar and New York City. In Burma, we work directly with artisan families and small-scale production teams to support ethical, meaningful work. In NYC, we collaborate with experienced local makers who help us bring each garment to life with intention and craftsmanship. This way, we stay rooted in our origin while building our future close to home.
What We Believe
We don’t mass produce. We don’t cut corners. And we don’t believe in empty luxury.
At INGJIN SAN, we’re building a transparent supply chain that honors every hand that touches our work, from the loom to the studio. Sustainability isn’t a trend to us, it’s the only way forward. Every piece is made in small batches, with purpose and precision. No waste, no fluff, just lasting design that means something.
Our signature textile is Acheik, a centuries-old Burmese fabric, handwoven by skilled artisans using intricate, labor-intensive techniques. We source both authentic handwoven Acheik and ethically produced printed Acheik directly from Myanmar. Alongside these, we incorporate other high-quality, sustainable fabrics selected for their integrity and long-term wearability.
We produce our collections between Myanmar and New York City. In Burma, we work with artisan families and small workshops that uphold fair wages and cultural tradition. In New York, we collaborate with experienced makers who bring precision and modern tailoring to our designs. This hybrid production model allows us to stay connected to both our origin and our future.
Why It Matters
This brand is personal. It’s a love letter to my culture, my community, and to everyone who’s fought to be seen.
Every purchase supports artisans in Burma, helps preserve traditional textile craftsmanship, and contributes to a more equitable fashion system. When you wear INGJIN SAN, you’re joining a movement that values truth, beauty, and human connection.
Thank you for being part of our story.
With love and purpose,
